Accommodation
At Gauksmıri we offer you made up bed, in recently renovated single and double
rooms, with and without private bathroom. The 18 new rooms (with private
bathroom) in the
second floor of the house were opened the year 2006. The 9 rooms without private
bathroom are with basin and joint bathroom. All rooms have a beautiful view.
In the nice and comfortable living room you can also find a television and a
video recorder. Access to a wireless internet connection is also provided.
Moreover, we offer accommodation in an older house, located a few meters from
the guesthouse. The surroundings of Gauksmıri invite you to walk along and watch
both birds and horses in their natural environment. Our facilities have been
approved by the Icelandic Farm Holidays Association.

Refreshments
The Icelandic food is renowned for its taste and healthiness. We make every
effort to offer our guests the most unmodified and healthiest products. We have
a green house and in the summer time we try our best to offer our guest home
grown
vegetables and almost all the bread is self-made. We only use sea salt and
spices that are free from artificial supplements.
We offer both banquets and light meals; Gauksmıri has a serving license for wine
and beer. We prepare breakfast and other meals if ordered in advance. We are
also happy to prepare lunch packets for individuals and groups. Our dining room
has space for up to 70-80 persons; it is bright and well-decorated. It can also
be used for meetings.
The landscape is rich and beautiful around Gauksmıri; there are hills, swamps
and lakes in our valley, the Línakradalur.

Opening hours:
Gauksmıri is open all year round, but please book in advance between 15th October
and 15th May.
Booking:
We need the following information to accept your booking: name, dates of your
creditcard, phone number or email-address. If a room reservation is cancelled
less than 48 hours in advance, or if the guest do not arrive or stay during the
booked period, we have to charge the price for one overnight stay.
